Anybody who has ever heard anything about computers will know that even though it is hardware part of computers that have got physical manifestations, it is softwares present inside a computer that has got ability to that. Computers are put to use by human beings in many situations. And it is depending on nature of task and difficulty quotient that computer utilizes one particular software to complete that job. This clearly means that softwares are most essential parts of a computer and without them a computer is only a useless mass of junk. And as softwares are so important, a lot of peripheral material has come up in order to help us understand about softwares and how to use them in a proper manner. Application packaging is basically practice of clubbing together various softwares which will be essential for users in order to run that computer. While above statement might make one feel that application packaging an easy job, it would be indeed foolish to claim so. In fact, application packaging is one of most difficult jobs related to computers. It is difficult mainly because it deals with softwares which themselves are not only abstract entities, but also difficult to handle. Softwares are essentially brains of computers. And as humans are unable to do anything without using their brains, it is also virtually impossible for computers to do anything for you without installed softwares being present in them. Now software installed can help a computer accomplish one particular job. Computers themselves have to perform a lot of varied tasks. And number of tasks as well as variety of tasks that is expected by us humans from computers is going on increasing with each passing day. So this means that a computer requires a large number of softwares in order to accomplish all those tasks that are expected from them. Besides if a computer is being put to some special use, then it will require some specific software related to its field of task. In order to cut down on above mentioned problem a way has been devised by computer scientists. This method only is known as application packaging. Under this system, computer scientists first look at what tasks does a specific computer needs to accomplish. In accordance with that they create a list of softwares needed. And then they create a whole package in which one or other version of all softwares is present. What is also important for scientists is that softwares which are present together should be complimenting each other. This means that this group of softwares are able to function together without any hindrance to each other. This is what makes idea of application packaging because they not only provide all softwares that are needed together; they have also cut down costs and tensions of not only customer who had bought that computer but also of those who are selling it. And due to all above reasons application packaging is being seen as an avenue that will keep on widening in future.
